TRENDING RUMORS
- Manchester United are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen ahead of the January transfer window, Sky Sport Switzerland reports. The Nigeria international is on loan at Galatasaray, where he has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 11 Süper Lig matches, but could be recalled by Napoli next month -- and transferred permanently. It is reported that United would have "no trouble" reaching an agreement over personal terms with the 22-year-old. Nevertheless, a transfer fee would still need to be settled with Napoli, who are expected to demand around €75 million to sanction his exit. Added to that, Man United have more pressing concerns at left-back in the winter window.
- Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens is high on Bayern Munich's list of targets for next summer, according to Florian Plettenberg. The 20-year-old, who has emerged as a key player in the first half the season, is yet to express a desire to leave Dortmund. However, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany and director of sport Max Eberl are reportedly "raving" internally about Gittens, who scored against Bayern earlier this season. A winter transfer has been ruled out, meaning Dortmund will wait until the summer to see which clubs make a genuine attempt to sign their star attacker. Gittens has scored 14 goals in all competitions for Die Schwarzgelben since 2022.
- Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is seriously concerned that Liverpool or Real Madrid will try to sign Charles De Ketelaere in the near future, La Repubblica reports. The Reds have recently been linked with De Ketelaere, who has scored 10 goals and registered nine assists in 24 games this term. The 23-year-old -- who operates chiefly as a No. 10 -- moved to Atalanta on an initial loan from AC Milan, where he had failed to score a single goal in 40 appearances, which subsequently became permanent earlier this year.
- Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán is a key target for Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window, according to Ekrem Konor. The 21-year-old has been lined up as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani by PSG head coach Luis Enrique. Les Parisiens are keen to strengthen their attack this winter, and they could turn to the Villa man, who has bagged seven goals in 17 Premier League games this season. Durán has previously been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Napoli. According to TMW, Napoli are also preparing an offer.
- Theo Hernández's future at AC Milan remains in doubt, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. Coach Paulo Fonseca has dropped the France international due to poor form, and criticised his performances in front of the squad. With a contract which only runs until the summer of 2026, Milan may decide to seek out interested parties, such as Man United. However, the report adds that Hernandez is happy at San Siro and wants to get back in the team and sign a new deal.
EXPERT TAKE
ESPN's Rob Dawson explains why Victor Osimhen is unlikely to join Manchester United in January:
There are doubts at Man United about Joshua Zirkzee, which has led to speculation about other strikers.
Zirkzee has struggled since his summer move from Bologna and there's another issue now about whether he suits Ruben Amorim's system. Amorim seems to favour a Rasmus Højlund or Viktor Gyökeres type -- someone who can lead the line and run into the channels -- and Zirkzee isn't that. He's far more comfortable dropping off the front and almost playing as a No.10.
United have looked at Victor Osimhen in the past. He's probably a better fit than Zirkzee for Amorim's system, but finances would be an issue. United have been clear that there isn't a lot of money to spend on new players, particularly in January.
