TRENDING RUMORS

- Liverpool, alongside several other top European clubs, are keeping tabs on Bologna defender Sam Beukema, according to TEAMtalk. Reds head coach Arne Slot is said to be a long-term admirer of the Dutchman, who joined Bologna from AZ Alkmaar in 2023. The Serie A side have ruled out a January exit for their star defender, but the report says that a summer transfer in 2025 could be possible if Liverpool stump up a fee of at least €25m. Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid are also said to be monitoring Beukema's progress.

- AC Milan are open to letting captain Theo Hernández leave the club but will demand a €50 million fee from any interested party, according to Calciomercato. The Frenchman is highly regarded by several European sides and could leave San Siro as early as this January. Hernández's current contract is set to expire in June 2026, meaning Milan have a narrow window in which they can command a large transfer fee for the player. With talks having stalled over a contract extension, Real Madrid and Manchester United are now said to be considering a move for the 27-year-old.

- Bayer Leverkusen are keeping a close eye on Arda Güler and could launch a bid for the Real Madrid youngster next summer, according to Sky Sports Deutschland. The 19-year-old has found first-team minutes hard to come by since joining Real in 2023 from Fenerbahce. While the Spanish giants have no intention of letting Güler go in January, a summer move in 2025 could materialize if he grows frustrated with his current situation. The Turkey international is under contract at Real Madrid until 2029.

- Lille forward Jonathan David is available on a free transfer in the summer and has a host of top clubs on his trail, says Mundo Deportivo. The 24-year-old has scored 17 goals in 23 games this season and Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona are ready to make him an offer. The Canada international is reportedly ready to take a step up in his career and leave Ligue 1, but Sport claims that Barca actually have doubts over his ability when teams don't give him space.

- Manchester United are open to offers for winger Marcus Rashford in January, Florian Plettenberg reports. The England international's potential exit would free up critical points for United in UEFA's Financial Fair Play system, giving new manager Ruben Amorim more room to maneuver in the transfer market. Rashford, 27, is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2028.

EXPERT TAKE

ESPN's Julien Laurens on how AC Milan's Theo Hernández could move on this summer.

Hernández is an interesting case. At 27, he should really be in the peak years of his career. He is the captain of AC Milan, a starter for France, a World Cup finalist, and Euros semifinalist. He is one of the best left-backs out there. In fact, apart from Federico Dimarco at rivals Inter Milan, there isn't a better attacking left-back than him in Europe right now.

Yet, at times, this season has been difficult for him. He hasn't been at his best consistently, even going forward, which is his main strength. And he hasn't got on with Milan's new manager Paulo Fonseca, so with his contract ending in June 2026, Hernandez is definitely thinking about a move in the summer.

The defender won't be short of options as he is strong, quick, crosses the ball well, and has a fighting mentality taught to him at Atletico Madrid, where he learned his trade.

A return to Real Madrid, where he played for a season back in 2017-18, and Spain's capital, where he grew up and where his mum still lives, would make sense. But the younger of the two Hernández brothers is also attracted by the English Premier League. It's a league that would suit him and his style of play, so Manchester United would definitely be a club on his radar.
