Former Ipswich Town player Simon Milton is "home and resting" and has thanked fans for their support after falling ill at the Premier League game against Bournemouth on Sunday.
Milton, a club legend with 280 appearances, was taken to hospital after falling ill in the Portman Road directors' box during the second half, with Ipswich on Sunday night confirming he was "stable and communicating".
He is now at home and has expressed his gratitude for all the messages.
"I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for all the unwavering love and support I've received from everyone," Milton, now a club ambassador, said in an Instagram statement released by Ipswich.
"Thank you to the first responders for their swift and professional help. I'm incredibly grateful for their quick actions in such a difficult situation.
"I'm now home and resting, and while I deeply appreciate all of your kind words, please understand that I'm unable to respond to everyone as there are hundreds of messages coming in.
"Right now, I'm spending some much-needed quality time with my family, and I kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time. I look forward to seeing you all back at Portman Road very soon.
Milton played for Ipswich as a midfielder from 1987 to 1998.
Ipswich were beaten 2-1 on Sunday after two late goals, keeping them in the relegation zone.
