Juventus have completed the signing of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, the Serie A club announced.
The Brazil international, who is on international duty at the Copa América in the United States, completed a medical before penning a five-year contract with the Turin club.
In a statement, Juventus confirmed they'd agreed a fee of €50 million ($53.5m) with Villa for the player
With Villa eager to complete Luiz's move before June 30 in order to meet their Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) obligations, Brazil' Football Federation (CBF) gave Juventus permission for the player to undergo a medical in Las Vegas, Nevada, ahead of Friday's group game against Paraguay.
Juventus faced competition from Serie A rivals AC Milan to sign Luiz, who scored nine goals and set up five more in 35 league appearances to help Villa secure a Champions League spot next season.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks at hometown club Vasco da Gama before joining Manchester City in 2017 on a five-year deal.
Luiz never played a first-team game for the Premier League champions and spent two seasons on loan at Girona before arriving at Villa in 2019.
During his time at Villa, Luiz scored 20 goals in 175 appearances. He was on the bench in Brazil's goalless draw against Costa Rica in their Copa América opener on Monday.
Meanwhile in a separate deal, Juventus' Argentine midfielder Enzo Barrenechea and English striker Samuel Iling-Junior have joined Villa on a permanent transfer.
