Galatasaray are interested in signing Anthony Martial on a free transfer but the former Manchester United striker will have to drop his wage demands if the move is to happen, a source has told ESPN.

Martial is a free agent after nine years at Old Trafford. United officially confirmed his departure on Wednesday along with Raphaël Varane and Brandon Williams.

Galatasaray are among a number of clubs to have expressed an interest in Martial.

However, a source has told ESPN that the Frenchman would have to accept a lower salary to secure a move to the Turkish champions.

The 28-year-old was restricted to just 13 Premier League appearances last season because of a series of injury problems.

He left the club having scored 90 goals in 317 games in all competitions with his last goal coming in a 3-0 win over Everton in November.

Martial hasn't played a competitive game since December after undergoing groin surgery.

Meanwhile, United are in talks with Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton about signing contract extensions.

Evans signed a one-year deal last summer and played 30 games in all competitions last season, including a substitute appearance in the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City at Wembley.

The 36-year-old can leave for free this summer but United have said discussions remain "open" about a new deal.

The situation is the same for third-choice goalkeeper Heaton.

United have also offered a new contract to Omari Forson. The 19-year-old forward made his senior debut last season but, according to sources, is expected to leave the club this summer.

United's contract offer means that they will be due compensation if Forson agrees a move to another club.

United are also in talks with Shola Shoretire about a new contract but have confirmed that former Tottenham and England midfielder Tom Huddlestone has left after two years in an Under-21 player-coach role.
