Several members of England's Women's European Championship-winning squad have been named in Britain's New Year Honours List for their outstanding performance in July, with captain Leah Williamson set to receive an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire).
Teammates Lucy Bronze, Ellen White -- the women's team's top international goal scorer -- and Beth Mead -- the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year winner -- were awarded MBEs (Member of the Order of the British Empire).

Liverpool defender and Scotland captain Andy Robertson has been awarded an MBE for his work with young people, while former Northern Ireland footballer Pat Jennings, 77, has been awarded a CBE for his football and charity service.
The New Year Honours List 2023 marks outstanding achievements and work in public service from people across the UK and the Commonwealth countries, and is usually given by the British monarch.
An MBE is the third highest award of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, followed by OBE, with Commander (CBE) the highest.
Ex-footballer turned pundit Chris Kamara has been awarded an MBE for his charity and anti-racism work, along with Jo Tongue, director of Women in Football, for services to football and gender equality. Cyclist Lizzie Deignan was also listed for an MBE, alongside netballer Jade Clarke and athletics coach Aston Moore.
Former Olympic heptathlon champion Denise Lewis, who has an OBE, has been made a Dame for services to sport.
Lewis Hamilton was awarded a knighthood in last year's Queen's Honours List after he equaled Michael Schumacher's record-breaking seven Formula One world titles in 2020.
England cricketers Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Jos Buttler have been previously recognised in the list.
