TOP STORY: Liverpool look to Laimer
Liverpool need to sign central midfielder in January and have RB Leipzig's Konrad Laimer on their shortlist, according to Sky Germany.
Laimer, 25, has been a target for Bayern Munich and almost joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer before talks over a transfer fee fell through.
The Austria international has a contract which expires in 2023, and looks unlikely to sign a new one, so Liverpool are aware they may be able to land him on the cheap as they look to provide cover for a number of injuries in central midfield.
The report also claims that "Liverpool have plans for significant investment in next year's summer transfer window" as they seek to rebuild after a tough start to the season.

21.30 GMT: Fluminense are looking to reward German Cano with a new contract, reports Cesar Luis Merlo.
The 34-year-old striker has been in impressive form for the Brasileiro Serie A side this season, scoring 29 goals across all competitions. It is understood that they are hopeful of securing his future at the club until 2024.
21.10 GMT: Fiorentina are eyeing a move for Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu, reports Ekrem Konur. The 28-year-old has been a standout performer in Serie A this season, having contributed to eight goals in 12 matches this season. The former Premier League star will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January.
20.49 GMT: Celtic are looking to ward off interest in attackers Giorgos Giakoumakis and Liel Abada by offering both stars new contracts, according to Sky Sports. They are set to be handed new five-year deals that will see them rewarded for their form, with manager Ange Postecoglou planning to make the forwards a long-term part of his project. Giakoumakis, 27, has scored six goals in 10 league appearances this season, while 21-year-old Abada has contributed to eight goals in 12 outings.
20.16 GMT: Multiple Serie A teams are tracking Club Brugge centre-back Abakar Sylla, according to Calciomercato. The Champions League performances of the 19-year-old once-capped Ivory Coast international have been so impressive that Juventus, Internazionale and AS Roma are all keen on signing the player.
19.43 GMT: Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is set to be handed a new contract amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Mail. The 25-year-old is said to be a key part of Erik ten Hag's future plans, with the Red Devils keen to keep hold of the England international, who has eight months remaining on his contract.
19.10 GMT: Real Betis are interested in acquiring backup Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena, writes Sport. The 23-year-old La Masia graduate was looking to leave Camp Nou in the summer as he seeks regular first-team football, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen starting every match for Xavi Hernandez's side this season. It is reported that Los Verdiblancos see him as the first option if they part ways with Rui Silva or Claudio Bravo, who have both been linked with moves away from the club.
18.37 GMT: Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has said he still has not decided whether he will retire or extend his contract at the Bernabeu next summer.
"I've always said that I won't go anywhere," he said. "I won't change clubs. I'll retire here. The only thing I don't know is when. I don't know what I think. 18.04 GMT: Internazionale left-back Robin Gosens remains a transfer target for Bayer Leverkusen, reports Sky Sport Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg. The Bundesliga club are keen on acquiring a left-back and central midfielder in the January transfer window, with new manager Xabi Alonso already assessing the areas of his squad that he wants to improve. The 28-year-old Germany international has made just one start in Serie A for Inter this season, and was linked with the Werkself in the summer.
17.31 GMT: Crystal Palace have put forward a new contract offer to attacker Wilfried Zaha, reports the Mail. The Eagles are concerned that they could lose their star player on a free transfer this summer, with the 29-year-old Ivory Coast international able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of the Premier League in January.
16.58 GMT: Everton and Newcastle United are monitoring Chelsea striker Armando Broja, according to CBS Sports' Ben Jacobs. While both clubs are open to signing the 21-year-old Albania international, it is said that Blues boss Graham Potter has assured the academy graduate that he is needed at Stamford Bridge, and that could make it difficult to get a deal over the line.
16.25 BST: Sport1 says Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is growing frustrated at the club.
Pavard, 26, has played 17 times this season and scored three goals, but the France international is unhappy with having to compete with new arrivals Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui for match time.
If things don't change, then Pavard could look to leave Bayern, with Manchester United one of the clubs interested in his services.
15.16 BST: Tottenham are among a number of Premier League sides to have been linked with Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, according to Il Giorno.
Malinovskyi, 29, has struggled for playing time this season and the Ukraine international could be keen to move on in January.
Spurs are keen, alongside Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, but he could cost around €15m to sign.
14.57 BST: Torino defender Perr Schuurs is on Liverpool's shortlist as a long-term successor for Virgil van Dijk, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Schuurs, 22, left Ajax to move to Torino for around €9m in the summer and has done well in Serie A to date. Atletico Madrid are also interested in the services of the Netherlands U21 defender.
14.12 BST: Aston Villa are looking at an ambitious attempt to sign Real Madrid's Eden Hazard in the January transfer window, according to Defensa Central.
Hazard, 31, will be a key player for Belgium at the World Cup in Qatar, but he has only played 98 minutes across three games in LaLiga this season for Madrid.
The former Chelsea winger may be tempted by a move back to the Premier League, with new Villa boss Unai Emery keen to make a splash in the transfer market.
13.34 BST: The potential signing of Marco Asensio on a free transfer has been the cause for an internal debate at Barcelona, per Mundo Deportivo.
Asensio, 26, is out of contract at Real Madrid at the end of the season and Barca have considered bringing him across the Clasico divide, according to the report.
The Blaugrana believe the signing of the Spain international would tick many boxes. He would add quality to the squad and arrive for nothing from the club's biggest rival.
However, there is not a unanimous verdict on Asensio among the club's hierarchy due to the excess of forwards already at the club. Any investment, even on free agents, is likely to go on the midfield and right-back positions.
Barca were interested in signing Asensio when he broke through at Mallorca but missed out on his signing to Madrid, where he is closing in on 250 appearances.
13.02 BST: Barcelona are closely following Mikel Arteta's development as a coach at Arsenal, according to Diario Sport.
Arteta, 40, has taken to the Gunners to top of the Premier League, ahead of Manchester City, where he previously worked as Pep Guardiola's assistant.
Barca are currently happy with Xavi Hernandez, who will celebrate a year in charge of the club this weekend, but are also keeping an eye on other options after the club's early exit from the Champions League.
Arteta spent time at Barca's academy as a player, going on to play for the B team, and later had the chance to hone his skills as a coach under Guardiola, two factors Barca feel could make him a suitable candidate to take over at Camp Nou in the future.

11.11 BST: Barcelona have been inundated with approaches to sign players whose contracts are expiring this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday.
N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Youri Tielemans, Diego Dalot, Youssoufa Moukoko and Nicolas Jackson are among the players who have been offered to the Catalan club.
Barca's current priority is to sign a deep-lying midfielder and a right-back. Chelsea duo Kante and Jorginho and Leicester City's Tielemans could fit the former category, while Manchester United's Dalot has been linked with the club for the latter role on and off for the last two years.
Borussia Dortmund striker Moukoko, still just 17, is seen as a potential opportunity as negotiations over a contract renewal drag on with the German club.
Villarreal's Jackson, meanwhile, is being closely monitored following his impressive start to the LaLiga season.
10.32 BST: Barcelona will turn their attention to signing Bernardo Silva or Lionel Messi to help get over their early Champions League elimination, according to Diario Sport.
The report says president Joan Laporta's 'last card' after a summer of investment which saw Barca spend over €150m will be to once again turn to the transfer market.
Messi's potential return to the club is the one that would excite the most but it is complicated by Paris Saint-Germain's desire to extend his deal and Inter Miami's push to take him to Major League Soccer.
Barca also have a long-running interest in Manchester City's Silva, but the Portugal midfielder would command a big fee while Messi is out of contract next summer (though PSG have an option to extend.)
09.34 BST: Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone insists he is not planning leaving the Wanda Metropolitano at the end of this season.
Atletico have failed to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages and still have to guarantee third spot in their group to play in the Europa League in the New Year.
Simeone's future has been called into question, but when asked if Tuesday's game at FC Porto would be his last with Atletico in the Champions League, he said in quotes reported by AS: "My desire is to continue working at this club. To return to the Champions League next season."
Simeone, 52, has been in charge of Atletico since December 2011 and guided the team to win two LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Europa League crowns.
08.55 BST: Paris Saint-Germain summer signing Carlos Soler says he knew it would take time to adapt to his new club, but feels he is finally showing his worth.
Soler joined PSG from Valencia in an €18m transfer on Sept. 1 and signed a contract with the French giants until June 2027. The Spain international has scored two goals in nine appearances in all competitions for PSG.
"Since I arrived, I haven't had many minutes on the pitch," Soler said in quotes reported by Superdeporte. "I knew it was going to be complicated because I was coming to a big club with top players and a lot of quality. I arrived here at the end of the transfer window, and I had to adapt.
"Now I feel well. I enjoyed a very special week after making my debut as a starter [against Ajaccio on Oct. 21] and then to score two goals in two games. The truth is that I'm very happy with the wins and the level shown."
Soler is expected to be included in Spain's World Cup squad.
"It's very special," he said. "I've never played at a World Cup and to be able to represent my country is the biggest thing a player can do. I'm just doing my best in my club to be able to be on the World Cup list."
08.28 BST: Tottenham assistant head coach Cristian Stellini has said it will be a "totally different world" without Antonio Conte on the touchline against Marseille but urged players and staff to "fill the gap" to avoid crashing out of the Champions League.
Spurs face a make-or-break Group D decider in southern France needing a point to guarantee passage to the round of 16. However, all four teams could qualify depending on the outcome of Tuesday's matches with Sporting Lisbon hosting Eintracht Frankfurt at the same time.
Conte will not be in the dugout as he serves a one-match suspension after being sent off in last week's 1-1 draw against Frankfurt and cannot communicate directly with his players during the game.
He will not give the prematch team talk but, according to Stellini, in a departure from normal planning, Conte will travel to the Stade Velodrome with the players and sit with his brother Gianluca, also part of Tottenham's backroom team, to watch the match.
"The presence of a coach like Conte, both before the game and the week leading up to it and during the match, is just indispensable," said Stellini, speaking at a Monday news conference which Conte declined to attend due to his ban.
"Especially a tough match like this where it's going to be intense until the final whistle. It's a change that's difficult but we have to prepare ourselves altogether before the match. It's a totally different world because normally the days before the game, Antonio will do all his preparation himself, alone.
08.00 BST: Chelsea are considering a move to sign Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo, says The Daily Express.
The Blues have struggled since Reece James injured his knee against AC Milan and the 22-year-old faces a battle to be fit for England's World Cup campaign.
Semedo, who signed from Barcelona for around €30m in 2020, is a versatile defender who could cover across the backline.

- AS Roma have joined Juventus in the race to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, according to Calciomercato. The Netherlands international was heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou during the summer transfer window, and Juventus were often among the clubs reportedly interested in him.
Depay is currently out injured, although he was facing a disappointing season at club level before being forced onto the sidelines as he struggled for game time with just 131 minutes played across three matches. While he managed to score in a 3-0 LaLiga win over Elche, Depay's tough spell with the Blaugrana has resulted in widespread reports that the club is willing to let him leave. This comes despite the former PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United and Lyon forward having only joined Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
- Borussia Dortmund want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini when his contract expires in the summer, as reported by Sky Sports Germany. This comes with Raphael Guerreiro's future still uncertain as his contract ends in 2023, while Nico Schulz also reportedly has no future with the club despite his contract lasting an extra year.
- Bayer Leverkusen have made Internazionale wing-back Robin Gosens their priority in the January transfer window, according to Florian Plettenberg, who adds that the club is unsatisfied with Mitchel Bakker. Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Gladbach are also interested in Gosens, with more talks set to follow as the German considers leaving Inter.
- Inter Miami are finalising a deal to complete the permanent signing of forward Leonardo Campana from Wolverhampton Wanderers, reports Tom Bogert, who adds that the deal will be worth somewhere in the region of $2.7m. Having scored 11 goals and added a further two assists this year while on on loan from Wolves, Campana is likely to be signed as a Young Designated Player.
- In the coming weeks, Inter Milan will meet with Stefan de Vrij's representatives in an effort to reach an agreement for the Dutchman to renew his contract, reports Calciomercato, with the centre-back's current deal expiring in the summer of 2023. Inter have hinted that they want to offer the 30-year-old a contract that will last until 2025, keeping him on his current wages totalling €4m-per-year. De Vrij will ultimately make the decision whether to stay or see where he could go as a free agent.
- Tom Bogert has reported that Sebastian Lletget has agreed to a new long-term contract with FC Dallas. He adds that Jesus Ferreira, Alan Velasco, Paul Arriola and Maarten Paes are also among those who also have their futures with the club sorted.
