LIVE TOP STORY: Milan still keen on Ziyech
AC Milan haven't given up hope of signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech but still prefer a loan with the option to make the move permanent, according to Calciomercato.
The current priority of the Serie A champions is to bring in a centre-back and midfielder, but Ziyech would be seen as the cherry on the cake for their transfer window.
Charles De Ketelaere has completed his move from Club Brugge to the Rossoneri, and while that won't stop Milan aiming to bring in Ziyech, it does determine how they will go about it.
Ziyech is very open to joining Milan and would even be willing to lower his current wage, worth over €6 million-per-year.
The two clubs remain at loggerheads as Milan want an option clause but Chelsea prefer an obligation to permanently sign the Moroccan after the loan spell.
All of this has resulted in a wait for Ziyech to leave Stamford Bridge, which could even leave the former Ajax Amsterdam man looking at options elsewhere.

21.40 BST: It appears Ruslan Malinovskyi could be set to leave Atalanta as he is exploring options around Europe with clubs in the Premier Legaue and Serie A interested in him, reports Fabrizio Romano. Nottingham Forest are among the clubs looking at the Ukrainian, who is keen to discuss his future soon.
21.12 BST: Le10Sport have reported that Stade de Reims defender Wout Faes wants to join Torino and has reached an agreement with the Serie A club. Torino have so far offered Reims €12m for the Belgian, with the Ligue 1 side willing to accept €15m despite having hoped that Faes would stay.
20.47 BST: As confirmed by the club's official channels, Napoli have completed the signing of goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu. They have also stated that fellow goalkeeper Nikita Contini is heading to Sampdoria on loan.
20.17 BST: Manager Daniel Farke is hoping to bring Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl to Borussia Monchengladbach, according to Sky Sports Deutschland.
The Bundesliga side want to bring him in on loan with the option for a permanent deal but Benfica want an immediate move worth €15m, which is too much for Gladbach. The loan will only become possible when Benfica are sure there is nobody they can offload Weigl to permanently.
19.43 BST: Nottingham Forest have made Watford an opening offer for Emmanuel Dennis that is worth in the region of £20m with add-ons included, reports The Athletic.
West Ham United have also shown interest in the Nigeria international, but it is believed that has now come to an end, while the Hornets are ready to let the forward leave for the right price.
19.10 BST: Napoli and Villarreal are leading the way to bring in Tottenham Hotspur's Tanguy Ndombele, according to Foot Mercato, who add that both clubs favour a loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
The report also says that the midfielder has received some form of interest from Olympique de Marseille, Real Betis, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan and Galatasaray -- although none of those clubs have taken any action yet.
18.41 BST: Real Madrid have overcome competition from Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid to reach an agreement in principle for Bayer Leverkusen's Iker Bravo, reports AS.
The 17-year-old striker will join Los Blancos on an initial loan with the Spanish giants holding the option to make the move permanent.
18.08 BST: Leeds United are looking at the Philadelphia Union's Kai Wagner as they aim to bring in competition and cover at left-back on a budget, reports The Daily Mail.
The Premier League club is hoping to sign Wagner for $3m, although he has also received interest from Dinamo Zagreb and Benfica.
17.40 BST: Luca Pellegrini is set to complete a loan move from Juventus to Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Calciomercato, as Filip Kostic is approaching a permanent transfer in the opposite direction.
Atalanta, Monza and Sampdoria had also made requests for Pellegrini, the 23-year-old left-back.
17.06 BST: Napoli have reached a verbal agreement with Hellas Verona for Giovanni Simeone, reports Sky Sports Italia. The deal is initially a loan worth €3m with an option to sign the striker for €12m, which will become an obligation under certain conditions that would be difficult to achieve.
Simeone joined Hellas Verona in 2021 on loan before a permanent move, and has tallied 17 goals in 35 appearances.
16.01 BST: New signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie could both leave Barcelona for free if they are not registered before Saturday's LaLiga opener against Rayo Vallecano, various sources have confirmed to ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.
Christensen and Kessie both joined Barca on free transfers earlier this summer from Chelsea and AC Milan respectively. With three days to go until the new campaign starts, however, neither has been registered with the Spanish league. Sources have told ESPN that if they are not registered before Barca's opening fixture against Rayo (stream LIVE at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+ in the U.S.), both players could choose to execute a clause that allows them to leave for free.
Fellow summer arrivals Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde are also yet to be inscribed with LaLiga, while the contract renewals signed by Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembele have not been registered either. ESPN understands Christensen and Kessie's situations are slightly different, though, given they joined Barca for free. Therefore, if they so choose, they would be entitled to leave for free before the transfer window closes.
Sources say at this stage there is no indication it will come to that and president Joan Laporta continues to transmit optimism that all seven players will be registered in time, but Barca are cutting it fine before the start of the season. In the worst-case scenario, sources told ESPN Barcelona would seek to speak with the players' agents to avoid such an extreme outcome because they have until the end of the month to register signings.

15.24 BST: Romelu Lukaku has said that he is being fuelled by an "anger that I have inside me" at Inter Milan after his struggles at Chelsea last season.
Lukaku re-joined Chelsea last year but scored just 15 goals in 44 games for Thomas Tuchel's side. The Belgium striker struggled to adapt back to the Premier League and angered fans with an interview in which he said he was "not happy" with Tuchel's system.
The 29-year-old left for Inter on loan this summer, and in an interview with DAZN he said he is eager to prove his Chelsea doubters wrong at the San Siro.
"The season at Chelsea gave me extra motivation to do even better than before," Lukaku said. "I think in one year everyone has forgotten about the things I am capable of doing on the pitch.
"That is a kind of anger that I have inside me. That now the team has it too, which didn't win last year, all together we hope to do better and bring something home."
14.48 BST: Bernardo Silva has told ESPN he is happy at Manchester City but admitted his future remains up in the air with just three weeks to go before the end of the transfer window.
Silva has been linked with a move to Barcelona despite the Spanish side's difficulties in registering their summer signings who have already arrived at Camp Nou.
On Tuesday, City rubbished reports they have agreed a £67.5 million fee with Barcelona for Silva, but, speaking to ESPN, the Portugal midfielder left the door open for a move before the window closes.
"I've always said that I'm happy here but I have no idea what's going to happen," Silva, who was a substitute in City's 2-0 win against West Ham United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season on Sunday, said.
"We'll see, honestly. My relationship with the club is very honest. I've been open with them and they know what I want. If I stay, I'm very happy and I will always respect this club and give all my best.
"If not, it's football and we'll just see what happens."

14.11 BST: Willian has confirmed to ESPN Brasil that he is leaving Corinthians and is planning to return to Europe with his family.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal winger rejoined his boyhood club Corinthians last year but has struggled to impress, scoring just once in 45 games. He has also been unsettled by threats he and his family have faced on social media.
Now ESPN Brasil reports that Willian could make a surprise return to the Premier League with newly promoted Fulham. The Brazil international scored 64 goals in 376 appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal during his eight-year spell in England from 2013-2021.
13.37 BST: Chelsea are looking to sign the Barcelona duo of Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Sky Sports.
Sources told ESPN in July that Manchester United had agreed a fee of around €85m with Barca for De Jong including add-ons, but the midfielder's future is still unclear. Aubameyang has scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for Barca since joining in February, but the former Arsenal striker may find his opportunities limited after Robert Lewandowski signed from Bayern Munich.
Aubameyang would help Chelsea fulfil their need for a striker after Romelu Lukaku left for Inter Milan on loan, while Thomas Tuchel's side could be a more attractive proposition than United for De Jong given they will play in the Champions League this season. Sky Sports say Chelsea are prepared to move for the pair if Barca allow them to leave this summer.
13.03 BST: Manchester City youngster Kayky is on the verge of joining Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira on loan for the 2022-2023 campaign, Globo reports.
Kayky, 19, will undergo a medical on Thursday in Portugal before joining his new team in training.
The Brazilian joined City from Fluminense last summer. He made 14 appearances for the Citizens' under-21 side, scoring six goals and providing four assists. Kayky also made two appearances for the first team.
12.26 BST: As reported earlier (see 08.42 BST), Liverpool have now announced that midfielder Harvey Elliott has signed a new contract at Anfield. The 19-year-old told the club's official website:
"It's always nice to know that I'm going to be here for many more years, which is always a great thing with it being my boyhood club and there is nothing in this world that makes me more happy and more excited than this...
"It's been a big rollercoaster for me and my family and even for the club. So much has happened in the years that I have been here.
"We've already won so much and hopefully we can win so much more, so just to know that I am going to be here for a long time again - as I said, it's always a wonderful feeling for myself and my family [and] being Liverpool supporters there is no better place in this world to be than playing for Liverpool and to put the shirt on and go out and play for the team and the fans.

11.58 BST: Crystal Palace are in talks to sign former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba on loan from RB Leipzig, according to Relevo.
Ilaix, 19, joined Leipzig from Barca last summer for €20m but has struggled to break into the first team at the German club.
The Guinea international spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, who are also interested in signing him again.
However, Relevo reports that Palace lead the chase for Ilaix, with Valencia set to announce the signing of Barca midfielder Nico Gonzalez on a season-long loan on Thursday.
Ilaix made 18 first-team appearances for Barca under Ronald Koeman but a failure to agree terms on a new contract last year saw him join Leipzig.
11.23 BST: Rennes are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Arnaud Kalimuendo, L'Equipe reports.
Kalimuendo, 20, came through the ranks at PSG and has spent the last two seasons on loan at Lens, scoring 21 goals in 65 appearances for them. With PSG well-stocked in attack, the France Under-21 forward looks set to move to Rennes in search of playing time.
Rennes have been looking to strengthen their front line, and L'Equipe say they are close to finalising an agreement for what would be a €25m deal for Kalimuendo. They finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season but began this campaign with a 1-0 loss to Lorient on Sunday.
10.46 BST: Chelsea face competition to sign Inter Milan teenager Cesare Casadei, according to Sky Sports.
French club Nice is ready to make a bid to sign midfielder Casadei while Italian side Sassuolo are also in the race. Unlike Chelsea and Nice, Sassuolo are willing to include a option for Inter to re-sign him into the deal.
Casadei has been promoted to the first team this summer. He impressed with the reserves, scoring 13 and setting up four more in 29 league appearances last season.
The 19-year-old, who has represented Italy at youth level, is under contract with Inter until June 2024.
10.09 BST: Serbian winger Filip Kostic has arrived in Turin to undergo a medical with Juventus ahead of his €17m transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 29-year-old was left out of Eintracht's squad for Wednesday's European Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid with the Bundesliga side confirming the player's imminent departure. Kostic, who scored 33 goals and set up 64 more in 171 games for Eintracht, is set to sign a three-year deal with Juve.
Juve have signed this summer free agents Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria as well as Gleison Bremer from Torino.

09.25 BST: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez insists the club will not make any further signings in this transfer window.
Madrid wrapped up most of their summer transfer business early, bringing in Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger while offloading several unwanted players.
"The only thing I can say is that we start a new season on Sunday with great enthusiasm and we've not looking to bring anyone else in at the moment," Perez said after Madrid's 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt to win the UEFA Super Cup in Helsinki "[Carlo] Ancelotti is managing the squad really well and that's a part of having a successful season.
"I'm not worried if [Karim] Benzema's goals dry up because we've got so many forwards that it won't be noticed. I believe he deserved the Ballon d'Or last year and it's already unquestionable this year. No one doubts it now."

08.42 BST: Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is in line for a new contract at Anfield, The Times reports.
Elliott, 19, only signed a five-year deal last summer, but will be offered improved terms to reflect his growing status at the club.
The England U21 international made four appearances at the start of last season before suffering a dislocated ankle against Leeds that ruled him out until February, after which he played a handful of games from February onwards as Liverpool managed his recovery.
However, after a full preseason Elliott came on as a substitute in both the Community shield and Saturday's 2-2 draw at former club Fulham. With injuries to Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be relying on him a lot more in the coming weeks.
08.00 BST: Frenkie de Jong's agents have arrived in Barcelona amid continued uncertainty over the midfielder's future at the club, with Manchester United and Chelsea still pursuing his signing.
Ali Dursun and Hasan Cetinkaya, who also represent Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite, flew into the city on Wednesday and are expected to hold talks with the Catalan club in the coming days over both of their clients.
De Jong's future has been the subject of much attention throughout the summer. ESPN revealed in July that Barca had agreed a fee of around €85m with United, including add-ons, while Chelsea are also interested. However, the player has so far preferred to remain at Camp Nou.
Barca, meanwhile, have told De Jong that if he wants to stay, he must reduce his salary, although sources have told ESPN he is reluctant to do so at this stage. Sources confirmed to ESPN earlier this week that Barca sent a letter to De Jong's camp in July warning that the contract renewal he signed in 2020 under the previous board had alleged irregularities.
Sources close to the player said the contract is legal and claim the letter that Barca sent was intended to put pressure on De Jong to either accept a move away or agree a wage reduction.

- Newcastle United could consider a move for Chelsea and United States winger Christian Pulisic, according to The Athletic. This comes with the Magpies also monitoring the situations of Blues duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Conor Gallagher ahead of a possible loan.
- Chelsea are ready to sign Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Barcelona allow the pair to leave, reports Sky Sports. The Blues are willing to match the £72m that Manchester United had offered Barcelona for De Jong's transfer. The Dutchman's agents have arrived in Barcelona earlier Wednesday amid continued uncertainty his future.
- Internazionale see Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo as a replacement for Milan Skriniar if the Slovakia international leaves, according to Foot Mercato. They could also look at Borussia Dortmund's Manuel Akanji, Atalanta's Merih Demiral and Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic.
- Manchester City are keen on signing Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro, reports Sky Sports, who add that City also have VfB Stuttgart's Borna Sosa on the list of players they are looking at. Fabrizio Romano adds that City are near a deal for Anderlecht's Sergio Gomez, who could be then loaned out to LaLiga side Girona.
- Everton are switching their attention to FC Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara after being unable to bring Idrissa Gueye back from Paris Saint-Germain, reports The Daily Mail. Camara has also been followed by Leeds United and Newcastle in recent months but Salzburg have resisted any offers so far.
- Hector Bellerin is still working on a way to leave Arsenal for Real Betis after enjoying a positive loan spell with the Spanish side last term, reports AS. However, it could prove difficult for the move to be completed as Betis are already struggling to register players due to financial issues.
