Roma have signed midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal, the club announced on Saturday.
Sources told ESPN in December that Roma had made contact with Arsenal over a potential move and that there is no option or an obligation for a permanent transfer.

Maitland-Niles has started just four games this season and has not featured at all since making a second-half substitute appearance in Arsenal's 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Nov. 20.
Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, sit six points behind fourth-place Atalanta having played a game more.
Maitland-Niles becomes the third English player at Roma, joining defender Chris Smalling and forward Tammy Abraham.
