"I think it is such a big club and somewhere I wanted to be. I spoke with the coach and he spoke extremely highly of the facilities, the staff, the players and the club in general," Raso told ESPN.
"I want to be competing for trophies and playing in the Champions League so it was a pretty easy decision for me to want to come here.
"I played in America for five years and after that I think I wanted to expand and I wanted to play European football because you could see how much it was developing. So I had my first season at Everton and I really enjoyed it.
"I think the league is really tough and really challenging and the chance to play in Europe and compete for trophies."
Raso added that she is looking forward to playing alongside England defender Lucy Bronze but also three-time PFA Young Player of the Year Lauren Hemp.
"We played against each other for our clubs last season and at the Olympics it was a tough challenge playing on each other so it will be nice to be on the same side," she said.
Known for her versatlity as a winger or striker, Raso represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics where they were beaten by the United States women's national team in the bronze medal match.
Raso won W-League titles with Brisbane Roar and Canberra United while during her time in the United States she won the National Women's Soccer League Championship and Shield with the Portland Thorns.
She has also played with Melbourne Victory and Washington Spirit.
