Highly rated Bright Osayi-Samuel finally broke his duck for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday, Mario Lemina was influential as Fulham stunned Liverpool, and a star was born as Ilaix Moriba opened his Barcelona account in their 2-0 victory at Osasuna.
Here are the key headlines involving Africa's big names in Europe last weekend, as Mohamed Salah endured a game to forget and Daniel Amartey scored his first Premier League goal in more than four years.
Osayi-Samuel finally makes his mark
A few eyebrows were raised when Osayi-Samuel swapped Queens Park Rangers for Fenerbahce during the January transfer window.
Premier League clubs and Scottish giants Celtic had been among those linked to his signature, and a move to the Turkish Super Lig -- albeit to a major side -- appeared to be something of an unlikely switch.
He's certainly taken his time to make an impact in Istanbul, having largely failed to ignite during his opening two months in the capital.
Heading into Monday's trip to Konyaspor, the Anglo-Nigerian prospect had failed to contribute either a goal or an assist; it was a disappointing return for the wideman, who had had a hand in 13 goals in the Championship last term.
Finally, however, he demonstrated the qualities that made him such a sound prospect last term to open his account against Konyaspor.
Fener were already leading 1-0 when Samuel picked up the ball inside the hosts' half after meeting a through-ball from Dimitrios Pelkas in a searing counter-attack just after the half-hour mark.

His pace took him away from one defender, a cute touch gave him space to evade another, and a sharp finish beyond the sprawling Ibrahim Sehic was enough to truly announce him to the Fener fans.
The Istanbul giants ultimately won 3-0 to move two points behind league leaders Besiktas, who have played one game fewer.
"I try to play an important role in every game I play," Samuel said after the match. "Personally, I feel very happy to score today. The goal gave me faith that more will come.
"I think we gave a decent team performance today. We showed how much we wanted to win as a collective, and we want to continue with a stronger performance in our next match."
Osayi-Samuel has been one of the players named in the Nigerian press as a potential new inclusion in Gernot Rohr's Super Eagles squad, and he clearly has something to offer the national side based on performances like this.
Also in Turkey last weekend, Vincent Aboubakar scored twice and Demba Ba netted a last-minute winner in respective triumphs for Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir, while Max Gradel scored and was sent off as Sivasspor held Galatasaray 2-2 away.
Moriba: Who is Barcelona's latest La Masia graduate?
Teenage sensation Ilaix Moriba scored his first goal for Barcelona when he cut inside his opposite man and finished with aplomb from outside the area after being picked out by Lionel Messi.
It was surely the kind of moment the Guinea-born wonderkid will have been dreaming of throughout his decade-long stay in Barca's La Masia academy, but, in truth, it wasn't entirely out of place, with the young midfielder having made a strong impression since making his La Liga debut in February.
He appeared comfortable from the off -- contributing an assist for Francisco Trincao in February's 5-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves -- and Ronald Koeman will be delighted with the role the 18-year-old has played in Barca's strong recent form.
"Leo gave me a good pass and I don't know how I cut and shot with the left, and thank God it went in," Moriba said on the club's official television station.
"I will never forget this and I will take it to my grave.
"There's competition for places but it doesn't matter if you are young or not. If you play well you're in the team.
"The older players help us, give us advice, Leo tells me to get in the area as often as I can and get in positions to shoot."
Moriba also paid tribute to his Liberian father after netting such a delicious maiden goal for one of the world's biggest clubs.
"I want to dedicate this goal to my father and La Masia, where I have learned a lot," he said.
"[The title race] isn't finished for us.
"We will fight till the end. That's the DNA they taught us at La Masia."
The midfielder signed for Barca from neighbours Espanyol in 2010, and his style prompted parallels with Paul Pogba during an eye-catching youth career.
Moriba has represented Spain up to under-18 level, but Guinea and Liberia are understood to have been monitoring his progress; the midfielder was even primed to represent the Syli Nationale in 2020 before coronavirus intervened.
Lemina heaps further woe on Salah's Liverpool
Lemina turned his fortunes round in style on Sunday, when he bounced back from a poor showing in Fulham's midweek defeat by Tottenham Hotspur and netted the winner against Liverpool as the Cottagers boosted their survival hopes.
The Gabon midfielder's career hasn't followed the anticipated trajectory after stints with Marseille and Juventus, and he's found it difficult to hold down a starting berth at struggling Fulham this term.
Lemina inadvertently handled the ball in the build-up to Josh Maja's second-half equaliser against Spurs on Thursday, and, while there was little the 27-year-old could have done to avoid the contact, the goal was ultimately ruled out by VAR.
He made amends -- and then some -- against Liverpool on Sunday, netting the only goal of the game at Anfield.
Lemina picked Salah's pocket on the edge of the Liverpool box, and the African then slammed a powerful effort beyond Alisson into the far corner of the net.
It was the highlight of a fine Fulham display, as the visitors sought to exploit Liverpool's threadbare defence at every opportunity.
Ademola Lookman sought to exploit Neco Williams' inexperience with his speed and intelligent off-the-ball movement, while Maja failed to hit the target with a volley after finding space between Williams and Nat Phillips.
Lookman, similarly, missed another chance, as Fulham's Nigerians enjoyed space and time against the Reds' rookie rearguard, before the Cottagers' Gabonese star stepped up.
By contrast, Liverpool's attacking unit continues to be enveloped in an alarming lack of conviction, with Sadio Mane only slightly lighting things up -- and hitting the woodwork -- after his second-half introduction.
Salah, complicit in Fulham's winner, hit the target with only one of his three attempts, failed to create a single goalscoring opportunity, and completed just one dribble as Liverpool's miserable losing streak continued.
Also in the Premier League, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener -- his sixth goal in six games as he appears to be returning to top form -- saw Arsenal claim a point in a 1-1 with Burnley.
Leicester City's 2-1 triumph at Brighton & Hove Albion was a victory made in Africa, as Kelechi Iheanacho extended his recent purple patch and Amartey netted a rare goal.
The Ghana international's winner was only his second goal in the Premier League after arriving at the King Power Stadium midway through the Foxes' title-winning campaign, in 2015-2016, ending a 1540-day drought in the top flight.
Iheanacho has never gone quite as long without finding the net, but he had scored only one goal in 17 matches before embarking on a two-game scoring streak that represents the first time he's bagged in consecutive league games since July.
