ADO Den Haag had the perfect way to welcome new manager Alan Pardew to the club.
The Toe Poke Daily is here every day to bring you all the weirdest stories, quirkiest viral content and top trolling that the internet has to offer, all in one place.
When your managerial CV over the past 20 years reads Reading, West Ham United, Charlton, Southampton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and West Brom, you might think you've seen it all before.
Then you see your own image as one of the Ghostbusters displayed across a massive football stand.
Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag, who sit 16th in the table, welcomed Pardew, 58, for his first match in charge against bottom club RKC Waalwijk with just such an image. And they rather nicely added his assistant coach Chris Powell too.
Having been out of work since leaving West Brom in April 2018, Pardew was appointed at ADO on Jan. 2 and watched his new side lose 6-1 at Ajax in their final game before the winter break.
"In the search for a new challenge I am glad that I came across ADO Den Haag," he said. "It is a beautiful and warm club, where everything starts with enthusiasm and passion."
... and obviously does brilliant tifos too.
UPDATE: It worked! Pardew and Powell marked their home debut with a win as Den Haag beat RKC Waalwijk 2-0 to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation.
