Ten-man Tottenham Hotspur missed the chance to win a Premier League away game for the first time since January as Cenk Tosun's 97th-minute equaliser snatched a share of the spoils for Everton in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.
Dele Alli looked to have produced the match-winning moment with a smart finish into the bottom corner 18 minutes after half-time, but the visitors had Son Heung-Min sent off for a foul that saw Andre Gomes carried off with a serious leg injury, before the hosts struck through Tosun in stoppage time.
Positives
A much tighter Spurs back four restricted Everton to a single shot on target in the first half while Davinson Sanchez bullied Richarlison in defence. In the absence of the ill Harry Kane, Alli showed his ability to impact games with a lovely run and finish from Son's pass.
Negatives
The visitors had scored nine goals in their previous two visits to Everton, but failed to test Jordan Pickford in a dismal opening 45 minutes. The late implosion, which saw Tosun get on the end of a Lucas Digne cross, means Tottenham have not won away from home in the league since Jan. 20.

6 -- Mauricio Pochettino was rewarded for showing faith in Alli, while stand-in captain Ben Davies impressed on his return. Despite that and appearing to have the game in hand after taking the lead, Spurs' struggles continue and they finish the weekend in 11th place.

GK Paulo Gazzaniga, 6 -- Largely untested in a dull first half, but produced a super stop to thwart Richarlison after the break. Could do nothing to stop Tosun's equaliser, though.
DF Serge Aurier, 6 -- What he lacks defensively he makes up for in energy and work ethic. On more than one occasion when he looked to have let Everton in behind, the right-back raced back to win possession. As one of those involved in the incident, Aurier was clearly shaken by Gomes' injury.
DF Toby Alderweireld, 6 -- Produced a vital block to deny Richarlison as the hosts looked to carve Tottenham's centre-back pairing open, but will have been relieved to see Gazzaniga later deny the same man after Richarlison escaped Alderweireld's attention.
DF Davinson Sanchez, 6 -- Showed strength and composure to clear an early scare and had the better of Richarlison, although he did escape a second yellow card late on when VAR reviewed.
DF Ben Davies, 7 -- Called upon to captain Spurs in only his fourth league appearance of the season, he struggled to cope with the pace of Theo Walcott at times, but hustled and harried and always looked to provide an attacking option at the other end.
MF Tanguy Ndombele, 6 -- Relieved early pressure on his defenders by producing the silkiest of turns to spin away from a pressing Everton attacker and had a solid game overall, though he was shown a yellow card.
MF Moussa Sissoko, 5 -- Did the basics well in the opening 45 minutes as Tottenham kept shape and looked untroubled. His performance levels dipped a little after the break in what became a weary-looking display.
MF Son Heung-min, 5 -- Caused problems with speed and directness when he looked to run at the defence and thought he had won a penalty after a bizarre coming together with Yerry Mina ... but VAR disagreed. He set up Alli's goal, but was shown a red card for the challenge on Gomes that caused concern all round, with Son among those in distress.
MF Dele Alli, 7 -- Backed by his manager after a poor performance at Liverpool, Alli responded with a well-placed finish into the bottom-left corner. He had to endure a twitchy few moments but got away with a handball shout for a penalty after a lengthy VAR check.
MF Christian Eriksen, 5 -- Lacked quality on the ball in an underwhelming display. A couple of poor passes let Everton off the hook when Spurs looked certain to carve out an opportunity and Eriksen also went into the book for blocking Richarlison.
FW Lucas Moura, 4 -- Called upon to deputise for Kane, he endured a quiet afternoon. His best moment saw him come close to getting on the end of a through ball shortly after half-time. To his credit, Lucas made a vital defensive contribution late on.
Substitutes
MF Giovani Lo Celso, NR -- Replaced Ndombele in the 73rd minute and faced a tough task as Everton dominated in the latter stages.
DF Juan Foyth, NR -- On for Aurier in the 88th minute as Spurs looked to see the game out. Foyth made a couple of vital interceptions, but was unable to help his team seal victory.
DF Ryan Sessegnon, NR -- Finally made his Tottenham debut and produced an important clearing header with his first touch.
