Major League Soccer fined Orlando City forward Dom Dwyer and CEO Alex Leitao on Wednesday for comments about the referees in last month's defeat to Columbus Crew SC.
Dwyer and Leitao wrote messages on Twitter critical of referee Silviu Petrescu, who awarded an 87th-minute penalty after forward Patrick Mullins fell to ground under minimal pressure from right-back RJ Allen.
Columbus, which trailed 2-1 at the time, were able to rally for a 3-2 win.

Dwyer criticised Petrescu's explanation to a pool reporter, calling it a "cop out" and the penalty the "worst decision I've ever seen." Leitao called the decision "absurd," adding "nobody can be so incompetent."
MLS said the comments were "in violation of the public criticism policy" in issuing the undisclosed fine.
