Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro, Gaston Ramirez and Fede Valverde have all been omitted from Uruguay's final World Cup squad.
Lodeiro, 29, has represented his country at two previous World Cups but was not included on the final 23-man list compiled by coach Oscar Tabarez.
Eleven of the players Tabarez has selected represented their country at the 2014 tournament in Brazil, with seven playing in 2010, when Uruguay were semifinalists.
Uruguay face hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt in Group A later this month.
