Asante Kotoko's troubled season will continue for some time before things improve, according to coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, who believes that even Pep Guardiola couldn't solve the fallen giants' problems.
The Porcupine Warriors haven't won the title in four years and have started the season poorly.
They were held 1-1 at home by Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday and, having lost three times in their seven opening matches already, find themselves seventh in the nascent table.
"I am not a magician who can turn the whole team around in two months," Fabin told jouranlists after the draw against Chelsea [as per Goal]. "We are working hard to make this team fearsome again.
"At least we are able to play better in the second half," he added. "Before I came, there were complaints that Kotoko could not play the second half well, so I think I have made the team stronger in a sense."
Kotoko are only three points behind leaders Ashanti Gold but Fabin doesn't believe that the title is a realistic target for the 24-time domestic champions.
"It would be an illusion for me to say I can win the league," he continued. "This is work in progress.
"It will [continue to] be tough like this before it stabilizes.
"I can't use two months to turn things around, it's impossible," the experienced coach concluded. "Even Pep Guardiola can't do that, so tell people to have patience and give us time."
