Burkina Faso international Jonathan Pitroipa is currently training with Paris FC as he looks to regain full fitness, the Ligue 2 club have confirmed.
In a statement on their official website, Paris have confirmed that the winger is not on trial at the club, having come to the end of his contract with Al-Nasr Dubai SC.
"After reaching various information, Paris FC have taken the decision to discuss the subject of Jonathan Pitroipa, who is currently training with the professional group," the statement began, "in order to provide clarity on the situation.
"Jonathan Pitroipa approached Paris FC in order to request to train with the professional group with the sole aim of getting back in shape," the club continued, appearing to put distance between themselves and a potential move for the wideman.
"The Burkina Faso international is not on trial," Paris added. "The club are happy to welcome the 69-capped Burkinabe international into the professional group to help him regain a good physical condition."
31-year-old Pitroipa returns to France after three years away, having left Stade Rennais in 2014. He joined the Brittany-based club in 2011 following spells with Freiburg and Hamburg, and was a defeated French League Cup finalist in 2013.
In recent years, he spent time with Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi, before moving onto Al-Nasr in the UAE Arabian Gulf League.
Pitroipa, an expert dribbler, has represented Burkina Faso at five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, winning the Player of the Tournament award after helping the Stallions to the final in 2013.
