AC Milan defender Andrea Conti has been ruled out for six months with a knee ligament injury.
The 23-year-old, a summer signing from Atalanta, tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in training on Friday.
Conti, who has made two Serie A appearances so far this season, will undergo surgery on Saturday.
A statement on Milan's website read: "Andrea Conti underwent clinical and instrumental tests which highlighted a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.
"His recovery time is estimated to be six months."
