Kenneth Omeruo marked his fourth year as a Chelsea player by signing a new contract to keep him at the club until 2020, but was immediately shipped off on loan again to Kasimpasa in Turkey.

The new contract is the fourth the Nigeria international will sign with the English champions, without having ever kicked a ball for them. The current loan outing will be his fifth, after spells with ADO den Haag in the Netherlands, Middlesbrough in England, as well as Turkish clubs Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

Following the move, Omeruo took to Instagram to celebrate it:

Omeruo God is Faithful.. Happy to have renewed my contract with @chelseafc until 2020 and also good to be back to Kasimpasa for one year.. #omeruofamily ❤️ #omeruo #kasimpasa #superleague #live2inspire

Nigerians, however, were not so pleased, with his reactions on social media urging him to make a permanent move away from Chelsea.

Twitter user @Udeozo1 said: Better live Chelsea and sign one club..

On Instagram habibullahabkar was among many who responded to Omeruo's post entreating the defender to leave Chelsea: @omeruo congrat but why don't you leave Chelsea to be a super star

The defender's inactivity appears to have cost him a place in the Nigeria squad, as he was left on the bench in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in favour of Chidozie Awaziem, while he has only been considered for a standby spot in the current squad.
