Roma have completed the signing of full-back Rick Karsdorp from Feyenoord, with the 22-year-old signing a five-year contract with the Giallorossi, who will pay an initial fee of €14 million for his services.
That could rise by a further €5m depending on performance-related clauses, with the Dutchman becoming the first new signing for new Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco.
"Coming to AS Roma is a great step forward for me," Karsdorp told Roma's official website. "I come here with a great desire and enthusiasm to play and to realise my dreams.
"I know I still have a lot of room to improve and I hope to do that here."
Karsdorp arrives having made more than 100 appearances for Feyenoord, with whom he won the Dutch league title last season.
"Despite his young age, Rick has already shown he possesses great talent," said Roma's sporting director Monchi.
"We are delighted to be able to sign him, and are certain that his attributes will fit in well with the way coach Eusebio Di Francesco wants to play."
