Ghana will miss the English Premier League based trio of Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Daniel Amartey on its United States tour after their clubs requested their exclusion.
Ghana Football Association officials say West Ham United, Swansea and Leicester City have all written to the body asking for the exclusion of the three players because the game does not fall within the regular FIFA international dates.
"The clubs have written to us to say they want the players excluded so that they can rest ahead of the start of next season because the dates do not fall within the mandatory international window," GFA vice-president George Afriyie told KweséESPN. "We effectively have no choice in the matter."
Ghana will play Mexico in an international friendly on June 28 at the Houston Dynamo Stadium before taking on the USA three days later in Connecticut.
The three players all played a part in Ghana's 5-0 win over Ethiopia in a Nations Cup qualifier with Andre Ayew and Daniel Amartey both starting.
