Stuttgart defeated Wurzburg 4-1 at home to return to the Bundesliga as 2. Bundesliga champions on Sunday, and were joined in the top flight by runners-up Hannover.
Daniel Ginczek set up three goals and scored the fourth for Stuttgart as the 2007 Bundesliga champions finished with 69 points and relegated their opponents.
Hannover, who drew 1-1 at Sandhausen, ended on 67 as both clubs, relegated from the Bundesliga last season, bounced straight back.
Braunschweig defeated already relegated Karlsruher 2-1 at home to finish third for a relegation/promotion playoff over two games against Wolfsburg, who finished third from bottom of the Bundesliga.
Fourth-placed Union Berlin finished with a 2-1 victory at Greuther Furth, while 1860 Munich face a playoff to stay in the second tier after losing 2-1 at Heidenheim.
