Arsenal set to loan out striker Stephy Mavididi to Charlton - sources

Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi is poised to join Charlton on loan, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Sources told ESPN FC last week that Arsenal are considering sending out Mavididi, 18, on loan so that he can get valuable first-team experience under his belt.

A number of Championship and League One clubs have expressed an interest in taking Mavididi on loan, but Arsenal are happy to let him move to Charlton.

The Gunners have a good relationship with Charlton having loaned out players including Francis Coquelin, Emmanuel Frimpong and Yaya Sanogo to the League One club in the past.

Mavididi, who has come through the ranks at Arsenal, is highly regarded at the Emirates Stadium and they feel a loan move is the next stage in his development.
