Real Sociedad will take an advantage into their home leg of the Copa del Rey fourth round after winning 3-1 at Real Valladolid on Thursday.
The Primera Division side took the lead on six minutes when Inigo Martinez scored following a a corner, but Valladolid soon equalised through Jaime Mata's penalty.
But Juanmi's second-half brace ensured Sociedad will enjoy a two-goal edge in the second leg.
Alaves also have a large advantage after a 3-0 victory at Gimnastic, Gaizka Toquero finding the net twice before Christian Santos capped the scoring.
Raul Garcia scored twice as Athletic Bilbao won 2-1 at Racing Santander.
Athletic took the lead on 11 minutes, and though the hosts equalised through Heber Pena 12 minutes later, Garcia found his second before the half-hour mark.
Las Palmas were the only top-flight side to suffer a setback on Thursday after wasting a lead and drawing 2-2 at Huesca.
An early Felix Asdrubal penalty had Las Palmas ahead before Hernan Santana doubled the lead shortly after half-time.
But Huesca rallied to equalise, Juanjo Camacho scoring in the 65th minute before Juan Aguilera's 71st-minute strike.
