Genoa survived a scare to beat Serie B side Perugia 4-3 after extra time in the fourth round of the Coppa Italia.
First-half goals from Giovanni Simeone and Goran Pandev looked to have put the top-flight side on course for victory but Rolando Bianchi and Jean Armel Drole hit back after the break.
Nicolas Burdisso hit the bar late on for Genoa but they went on to win in extra time with a second goal from Pandev and another from Nikola Ninkovic.
Francesco di Nolfo scored Perugia's consolation after they had Stefano Guberti sent off.
Bologna eased through with a 4-0 win over Serie B leaders Hellas Verona.
Federico di Francesco put them ahead just after the half hour with Anthony Mounier doubling the advantage before the break with the first of his two goals.
Mounier claimed his second four minutes from time and Emil Krafth wrapped up the scoring in the closing moments.
Bologna will face Inter in the round of 16 in January, while Genoa are up against Lazio.
