Having comfortably beaten Saudi Arabia (5-0) and Egypt (3-1), Russia weren't even close to passing the test against an opposition of a higher level. Uruguay's 3-0 win means they win group A over Russia, who finish second. Russia will now play the winner of group B at the Russia's main arena Luzhniki on July 1st.
Positives
No injuries or suspensions ahead of the first round of the knockout stage of a World Cup seems to be the only positive from the game.
Negatives
After scoring eight goals against Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Russia managed only one shot on goal against a quality opponent.

5 -- Stanislav Cherchesov made three changes to the side that impressively beat Egypt 3-1. None of the players coming into the starting XI ( Fedor Kudryashov, Igor Smolnikov or Aleksey Miranchuk) could prove the manager's choice was right. Leaving Aleksandr Golovin out, one of the best Russia's players in the first two games, was explainable -- the 22-year-old starlet was a booking away from suspension.

GK Igor Akinfeev, 5 -- Could have done better with the first goal, didn't do wonders when conceding the second and wasn't helped by defenders in stoppage time on the third.
DF Igor Smolnikov, 4 -- Two careless fouls in a matter of eight minutes by the Zenit St. Petersburg defender meant Russia had to play with 10 men for nearly an hour.
DF Sergey Ignashevich, 7 -- The 38-year-old looked solid in defence, making up for a lack of speed with his excellent positioning -- made eight clearances, three interceptions and blocked three shots.
DF Ilya Kutepov, 5 -- Looked better than in the previous games but still not good enough. His careless fouling, inability to tackle and lack of speed was there for all to see once again.
DF Fedor Kudryashov, 5 -- Lost most of his duels on the left wing, lost position on numerous occasions and offered nothing in attack.
MF Denis Cheryshev, 5 -- A day to forget for the official man of the match from Russia's previous two matches. Shot straight at the goalkeeper when wasting a good opportunity to level the score, turned his back to Diego Laxalt's long effort, which resulted in a deflection and an own goal. Made way for Mario Fernandes after 38 minutes to fill in the right-back position after Smolnikov's sending off.
MF Roman Zobnin, 7 -- Had another good game between the two boxes, working his socks off. Made a crucial clear from his own box which prevented Edinson Cavani from making the score 3-0 after on the 28th minute.
MF Aleksandr Samedov, 5 -- Just one of his crosses and long balls found a teammate.
MF Yuri Gazinski, 4 -- His careless back pass made the slow Kutepov compete in a race with Luis Suarez. In the following attack he fouled Rodrigo Bentancur, which resulted in a yellow card, a free kick and a goal. Subbed off at half-time.
MF Aleksey Miranchuk, 5 -- Unimaginative performance from the 22-year-old talent. No shots, no key passes, no pressing from the Russian champion.
FW Artem Dzyuba, 6 -- Worked hard and made his presence felt in the opposing area. Still lost most duels to a fabulous Diego Godin in the Uruguayan area, and lost position to let the 32-year-old defender head the ball on frame ahead of Uruguay's third goal.
Substitutes
DF Mario Fernandes, 5 -- He wasn't needed too much in defence by the time he came on, and couldn't offer anything significant in attack.
MF Daler Kuzyaev, 6 -- Definitely did better than Gazinsky and looked solid in midfield. Has deserved a place in the starting XI in the next match.
FW Fedor Smolov, 5 -- Another forgettable performance by the 28-year-old striker. Has lost his place in attack to Dzyuba and hasn't done anything to prove this was a manager's mistake.
