Aleksandr Golovin to Manchester United
Marko Arnautovic wasn't the only player Jose Mourinho was scouting during Russia's friendly with Austria this week as United close in on a £15 million move for CSKA Moscow midfielder Golovin. According to The Sun, Mourinho sees the 22-year-old, who first broke into the CSKA four team years ago, as a long-term replacement for Juan Mata. Golovin has 18 caps for Russia and will be a key player for the national team at the World Cup.
William Carvalho to Everton
Carvalho's move to the Premier League has been anticipated for many years and Everton have emerged as the latest club trying to sign Sporting's defensive midfielder. Portugal international Carvalho will cost in the region of £25m but, according to A Bola, the 26-year-old is also a target for Monaco. Carvalho nearly joined West Ham last summer in a bungled transfer which caused a bitter row between the Premier League club and Sporting.
Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea
Juventus are trying to offload Higuain and having proposed a swap deal with Inter for Mauro Icardi are now offering him to Chelsea for Alvaro Morata. Higuain scored 16 goals in 35 games for the Serie A champions last season but turns 31 in December and is the club's highest earner on £125,000-a-week. According to various reports, Chelsea are in the market for a of a central striker with Morata failing to settle in his first season at Stamford Bridge and the Spaniard is still highly regarded in Turin.
Alisson to Chelsea
Chelsea have joined the race to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson, who is also wanted by Liverpool and Real Madrid. That is unless Madrid sign Thibaut Courtois whose potential departure from Stamford Bridge has sparked their interest in Brazilian international Alisson, according to Sky Italia. Courtois has just one year remaining on his Chelsea contract and talks over an extension have broken down. The Guardian claim that AS Roma are demanding in the region of £80m for their Brazilian shot-stopper.
Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid
European champions Madrid have identified Eriksen as the ideal long-term successor to Luka Modric in their midfield. Modric was outstanding in last week's Champions League final victory over Liverpool but, at 32, Madrid are mindful he may not have many more years left at the top. Marca state that Danish playmaker Eriksen, 26, but is wanted by the Champions League winners.
