Norwich City's Sergi Canos has revealed how the opportunity of regular first-team football led to his departure from Liverpool.
Canos, 19, completed his move to the Championship side on Wednesday after a bid of £2.5 million was accepted last week.
However, a Liverpool source revealed to ESPN FC that the fee could potentially rise to £4.5m based on the number of appearances the Spaniard makes for the Canaries.
Canos impressed on a season-long loan at fellow Championship outfit Brentford last campaign before he returned to Merseyside and made his Liverpool debut when he appeared as a second-half substitute at West Bromwich Albion on the final day of the season.
"Playing on loan at Brentford was probably the most important experience of my life," Canos said. "I wouldn't be here if I hadn't played at Brentford. It was the most important thing in my career. I learned to play football in the Championship. It was the right time to leave Liverpool.
"I wanted to play football and they wanted me in the under-21s so it was the right decision. I am very excited and I can't wait to get going and to train."

The former Barcelona trainee, who opted for East Anglia over Bristol City, Fulham and Brentford, added: "I want to be a Premier League player and if I could do that with Norwich it would be amazing.
"I feel very good. It was a tough decision, but my family and I have reached a good decision. From the beginning, Norwich showed very good interest and showed that they believe in me.
"I'm very excited to be here. Carrow Road impressed me, I've seen videos of it and it looks an amazing atmosphere and I can't wait to play there."
Norwich manager Alex Neil was pleased with the capture. He said: "Sergi has a good background having been at Barcelona before moving to Liverpool at a young age.
"At Brentford last year he did really well. With Nathan Redmond leaving we wanted to replace him with someone exciting -- someone who can dribble, can score goals and can provide assists. Hopefully Sergi can show everybody how good he can be."
