Aston Villa have signed goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona on a four-year contract.
Gollini, 21, was linked with a move to Everton in May after impressing despite Verona's relegation to Serie B.
Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo told the club's official website: "I am very pleased to have brought in Pierluigi. We have managed to sign him despite the fact he was being chased by a number of top sides and that is a great sign.
"He's a young man but has plenty of experience and I'm sure he'll prove to be an excellent signing for the club."
The Italy under-19 international spent two years in Manchester United's youth set-up between 2012 and 2014.
Gollini becomes Di Matteo's second signing since taking over at Villa, following the arrival of Tommy Elphick from Bournemouth.
