Roma have agreed a deal to sign defender Mario Rui from Serie A rivals Empoli.
The 25-year-old Portuguese will join Roma on an initial one-year loan, for which the Giallorossi will pay a fee which could rise to €4.5 million.
The agreement also includes a performance-related clause which, if triggered, will mean Roma must make the deal permanent by the start of the 2017-18 season for €6m.

Former Portugal under-21 left-back Rui said on Roma's official website: "I've joined one of the best clubs in the world so I'm feeling great.
"The first impressions are very positive. I hope to contribute and help the team to build on the work they did last season."
