Milan supporters protest Donnarumma by throwing fake money on pitch

Since electing to turn down a contract extension with AC Milan in midweek, Gianluigi Donnarumma has become public enemy No. 1 in the city of Milan. Milan were caught off guard by the 18-year-old's decision and supporters of the Italian giants have been very vocal with their disapproval and frustration at the news.

On Sunday, in Krakow, Poland, at the Under-21 European Championships, Milan supporters found a new way to protest and show their displeasure with Donnarumma. How, you ask? Well, by showering the Italian goalkeeper's goal with fake dollar bills, of course!

Supporters also hung a banner behind the goal that read "Dollarumma" and the match even needed to be stopped briefly while workers tried to clear the pitch. Donnarumma and super-agent Mino Raiola have been widely criticised for the decision to turn down Milan's contract offer, but this response is definitely a new one.

If Donnarumma is facing this level of criticism in Poland, one can only imagine what he will face when he returns to Milan -- where he is still under contract for the time being. This is likely just the beginning of what could be a very awkward summer in Milan.

Raiola and Donnarumma wanted Milan to show them the money, and on Sunday, the fans did just that ... literally.
