Everton are lining up a move for former Manchester United youngster Pierluigi Gollini as they eye a replacement for Tim Howard, a source has told ESPN FC.
Everton are in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements after Howard played his final game for the club against Norwich City last weekend. He is joining MLS side Colorado Rapids this summer following a 10-year spell at Goodison Park.
Gollini, 21, is currently in Serie A with Hellas Verona and has emerged as a target for the Toffees after impressing this season.
The Italy under-20 international was one of Verona's shining lights this season despite their relegation to Serie B, making 27 appearances in all competitions, and he is tipped as a future Italy No. 1 in his homeland.
Gollini spent two years at Manchester United after they signed him from Fiorentina in 2012, but he left to join Verona in 2014 after his contract expired. He was a regular in United's U18 side and reserves, but he was unable to break into the first-team at Old Trafford.
Everton are now considering offer Gollini a move back to the Premier League, while Napoli are also weighing up a move.
