Liverpool have not approached Cologne to make an enquiry about the availability of goalkeeper Timo Horn, according to the Bundesliga club.
Horn, 22, has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer but Jorg Schmadtke, Cologne's sporting director, has insisted that so far it is just paper talk.
A report in Saturday's Sun claimed that the Reds had identified the Germany under-21 international as a possible successor to Simon Mignolet as No. 1, and sent chief scout Dave Fallows to watch him again in Friday night's 0-0 draw at Augsburg.
But Schmadtke told kicker: "There is no enquiry."
He also said to Bild: "What's decisive for me is when I have something in writing from a club or when the agent calls me. Both things have not happened so far."
Horn is under contract at his hometown club until 2019, but has a €9 million release clause which must be activated this month, kicker added.
