FC Ufa midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to join Borussia Dortmund this summer, the player's agent said on Friday, however the Russian club's general manager has refuted his claim.
The 19-year-old Ukraine youth and senior international has been linked to the likes of Roma, Zenit St. Petersburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Kiev and the top Moscow clubs in addition to the Bundesliga side.
Speaking to Sport Express on Friday, ProSports Management agency president German Tkachenko revealed a move to the Westfalenstadion was close to being finalised but for a few minor details.
"I am almost certain that Oleksandr Zinchenko will move to Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund have already made the decision. However, it is still not sure whether they see him in the first team or in the reserve team.
"A law passed last week that foreigners over a certain age are not allowed to play for reserve teams, and a special permission from the FA is required."
Zinchenko, a former Shakhtar youth product, has scored two goals and provided three assists for Ufa this season. He has also featured at all levels of his country's youth set-up.
In an interview with TACC, Ufa general manager Shamil Gazizov was quick to point out Dortmund aren't the only club interested in his services.
"We said numerous times that we have big offers for Zinchenko from very big clubs," Gazizov said. "Borussia Dortmund is not the only club we negotiate with."
