Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.
Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for the latest gossip.
Mitchell Dijks - Norwich
Ajax left-back Dijks is in talks with Norwich about a move to Carrow Road, according to BBC Radio Norfolk. The 23-year-old has made 15 appearances for Ajax this season. And after selling Martin Olsson to Swansea, the Canaries are in the market for a replacement. Dijks would reportedly cost around £3.4 million.
Jerome Sinclair - Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have approached Watford about taking Sinclair on loan, according to the Daily Mail. The 20-year-old forward has featured six times for Walter Mazzarri's side this season since his summer move from Liverpool. He is available for a temporary switch to the Championship, and while Brentford and Ipswich are interested, Forest have made the first move.
Fernando Muslera - Chelsea
The Telegraph says Chelsea are considering Galatasaray goalkeeper Muslera as a replacement for Asmir Begovic, should the Blues' No.2 move to Bournemouth. Begovic is subject of a £10m bid from the Cherries, but Chelsea want to find a replacement for him first. Muslera is part of a three-man shortlist drawn up by goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, alongside Craig Gordon and Diego Lopez. The Uruguay international knows Chelsea coach Gianluca Spinelli from his four-year spell at Lazio, but it is unclear whether he would accept a backup role behind Thibaut Courtois when he is first choice at his current club.
Reece Oxford - Rangers
Rangers and West Ham are in talks over the loan move of Oxford, according to Sky Sports. Oxford, who can play in defence or midfield, would be Mark Warburton's third loan signing of the window, after Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman. Oxford, 18, is looking for more game time, after only featuring twice this season following an ankle injury.
William Carvalho - Liverpool
Portuguese paper A Bola says Liverpool brought up Carvalho during discussions with Sporting Lisbon over cutting Lazar Markovic's loan short. It's expected the 24-year-old midfielder, who is under contract until 2020, would cost the Reds at least £25m. With Liverpool's season fading after a bright start, Klopp could be tempted to bring in Carvalho to try and maintain their title push.
