PAPER TALK
By Jack Rathborn
Gotze set for Dortmund homecoming?
After struggling to cement his place in three seasons at Bayern Munich, Mario Gotze then lost his place in the Germany lineup halfway through this summer's European Championship. Surely, a move will be on the cards this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur were keen on the 24-year-old, reports the Mirror, but the lure of returning to boyhood club Borussia Dortmund appears to be the player's preferred destination. Gotze initially declared his intention to work with new manager Carlo Ancelotti at the Allianz Arena, but is now reportedly prepared to move in an effort to inject momentum into his career.
Boro in ambitious swoop for former City striker
Alvaro Negredo has endured a fall from grace since departing Manchester City, with his move to Valencia failing to work out. However, the Spaniard could be offered a move back to England to resurrect his career with Middlesbrough, who are reportedly in talks with Valencia over the striker, reports the Sun.
The Spanish striker could be attracted to compatriot Aitor Karanka's side, who initially want to take the 30-year-old on loan, with Los Che looking for £8.5 million in a permanent move. Boro have been efficient with their business this summer, acquiring Victor Valdes, Marten De Roon, Viktor Fischer and Bernardo, but adding Negredo could go a long way toward securing survival next season.

- Meanwhile, Gazetta World suggests Jordan Lukaku, after impressing with Belgium at the Euros, could be set for a big move to Lazio. The Anderlecht left-back, brother of Everton striker Romelu, looks set for a big future after demonstrating a real attacking threat in France this summer.
