Gent captain Sven Kums says he will not be leaving the club in January after being voted the Belgian Pro League's Player of the Year for 2015.
Kums, 27, was named as the clear winner of the Soulier d'Or award on Wednesday ahead of club teammates Laurent Depoitre and Danijel Milicevic.
A calm and clever central midfielder, Kums returned from a three-month injury layoff last February before Gent were crowned Belgian champions for the first time in their history in May.
He was called up by Belgium for the first time in October and is joint-top scorer in the league this season with 10 goals -- seven of them from the penalty spot -- as Gent once again top the standings.
The former Kortrijk, Heerenveen and Zulte Waregem player has also excelled in the Champions League this term, scoring in a 1-0 win over Valencia as the Belgian side surprisingly qualified for the round of 16.
Kums was named in UEFA's team of the group stage as a result of his performances and will be a key player when they take on Wolfsburg in the round of 16 next month.
Fiorentina have reportedly enquired about signing Kums, but he says there is no chance he will leave the club this month.
"During this transfer window, Gent will not let anyone leave," Kums told reporters after collecting his award.
"In terms of the end of the season, I haven't thought about it yet. First of all, I want to win a second league title with Gent."
Kums succeeds Anderlecht's Dennis Praet, who took the Soulier d'Or last year, and on Wednesday he was compared to Barcelona's Andres Iniesta by former Zulte teammate Mbaye Leye.
Kums failed to make the breakthrough at Anderlecht during 10 years there and, despite having since proved doubters at club level wrong, he is not yet banking on earning a place in Belgium's Euro 2016 squad.
"It's not because I won this prize that I will be at the Euros," Kums said. "The competition is formidable. I don't think it will change something."
The other award winners on Wednesday were unsurprising as well -- Gent keeper Matz Sels was named Goalkeeper of the Year, while his coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck was rewarded for an excellent 12 months.
Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans won the Young Player of the Year award for the second year running, while Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne was recognised as the best-performing Belgian playing abroad in 2015.
The voting panel consisted of journalists, coaches, referees, Royal Belgian Football Association members and former award winners.
Kums dedicated his prize to his cousin, Gregory Mertens, who died in April at the age of 24 after collapsing while playing for Lokeren's reserve side.
