Guingamp defeated Nice in a penalty shootout to reach the quarterfinals of the Coupe de la Ligue.
Yannis Salibur scored twice in a 2-2 draw before netting what proved to be the crucial spot kick which put the home side through as 4-3 winners on penalties.
Nice had earlier taken the lead a minute before half-time through Alexandre Mendy, and it looked like being enough to secure the visitors' progress.
However, Guingamp found a way back into the tie with just a minute to go when awarded a penalty for handball. Salibur took the kick and converted the rebound after Mouez Hassen saved his initial kick.
Mendy put the visitors ahead again early in extra-time, but Salibur's free kick in the 110th minute forced the shootout.
After both sides missed two spot kicks from their sets of five, including a failure by Guingamp goalkeeper Jonas Lossl, Salibur netted for Guingamp before Maxime Le Marchand missed to send the Ligue 1 strugglers through with a first win since their last cup tie in November.
There was no such drama at Roazhon Park, where relegation battlers Toulouse defeated 10-man Rennes 3-1.
Forward Wissam Ben Yedder scored in the 13th and 32nd minutes as Toulouse dominated the first half, during which Rennes midfielder Yacouba Sylla was sent off for a foul on Adrien Regattin.
Fallou Diagne reduced the hosts' deficit from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, but Regattin wrapped things up with a late third.
Full-back Djibril Sidibe scored with 10 minutes left to give Lille a 1-0 win at Laval, which was a fourth successive victory under new coach Frederic Antonetti.
Lorient secured their place in the quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over 10-man Dijon at Stade du Moustoir.
The second division leaders, who had defender Mouhameth Sane sent off early in the first half, were beaten by goals from Benjamin Jeannot (38), Romain Philippoteaux (52) and Walid Mesloub (88).
