Matteo Darmian's proposed move to Manchester United has not yet gone through amid reports the full-back is to undergo a medical at Old Trafford, according to Torino president Urbano Cairo.
Darmian, 25, has been given permission by Cairo to discuss terms with other clubs and a bid of between €18 million and €20m from United is reported to have been accepted.
However, Cairo says Darmian is still a Torino player, telling Italy's La7 television: "I'm really very attached to Darmian and he remains a very important player for us.
"We all know how much interest there is in him and how many offers he's got from Serie A and from abroad.
"United are certainly a huge and prestigious club, but as far as a sale goes there is absolutely nothing official yet. So I don't like to talk about situations which are not yet well defined, and making them out to be done."
