Manchester City have agreed to sell defender Karim Rekik to Marseille.
The Netherlands international, 20, is set to join the French club for a reported fee of £3.5 million.
Rekik, who has only made three appearances for City, has spent the last two seasons on loan in his home country at PSV Eindhoven, helping them win the 2014-15 Eredivisie.
The versatile defender joined City in 2011 from Feyenoord but was also loaned out to Portsmouth and Blackburn.
Now Rekik, who has been capped once by Netherlands, is on the brink of leaving the Etihad Stadium permanently.
"Olympique de Marseille and Manchester City have reached an agreement in principle for the permanent transfer of Dutch international Karim Rekik on Tuesday evening subject to passing the medical examination," read a statement on the French club's website.
City have parted company with seven players this summer, although only James Milner, who has joined Liverpool, and Frank Lampard, who has signed for New York City FC, featured regularly last season.
Scott Sinclair and Micah Richards, who were both out on loan, have signed for Aston Villa while John Guidetti has departed at the end of his contract.
Alvaro Negredo and Matija Nastasic had been loaned by Valencia and Schalke respectively but both clubs were already obliged to buy them.
