Maxime Gonalons says it is not his job to tell in-demand duo Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir to stay at Lyon this summer.
Lacazette, 23, and Fekir, 21, have both been linked with moves away from OL at the end of the season.
Chelsea and Liverpool are both reportedly monitoring Lacazette, who has scored a division-high 27 Ligue 1 goals this term, while Arsenal are thought to be in the hunt for Fekir, who has had a breakthrough campaign in the French top flight.
Fekir extended his Lyon deal through to 2019 last summer and Lacazette got an improved contract early this season when he prolonged his current agreement into 2018.
Gonalons, 26, has rejected overtures from abroad -- notably Napoli -- in recent seasons and signed a two-year contract extension of his own in November, taking him through to 2018.
With Lyon set to qualify for the Champions League and still in the hunt for the Ligue 1 title, as well as their new Stade des Lumieres due to open early next year, Gonalons believes his sought-after teammates should carefully consider their futures.
"I don't have to convince anyone," the OL captain told RMC. "They have a good head on their shoulders, there is Euro 2016 coming up in a year, we're going to have the new stadium coming, we're happy and lucky to be getting back into the Champions League. That's a lot of factors to take into account.
"When you feel good in a team, when you're flourishing, you should ask yourself the right questions and stay. Having said that, their future belongs to them. Everyone's different, everyone sees their career differently. But in any case, there is an important project here, and I hope everyone will stay."
Although Lyon have sought to reduce their wage bill and limit costs in recent seasons, president Jean-Michel Aulas has repeatedly declared his intention of keeping hold of home-grown talent, such as Lacazette and Fekir, in order to have a competitive team when the club moves into its new stadium.
