U.S., Canada rivals McKennie, David team up in Juventus win

Concacaf rivals Weston McKennie and Jonathan David teamed up for a pair of goals to hand Juventus a late -- and needed -- 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Juve came into the game in frigid Norway on the outside looking in to reach the knockout rounds and soon found themselves a goal down when Ole Didrik Blomberg pounced on a ball at the back post and blasted in the first goal of the game.

But Loïs Openda hauled Juventus back to level terms before U.S. midfielder McKennie skied above his Bodo defender to head home a beauty of a goal and put the Serie A side back in front.

After Bodo tied the game back up -- through a penalty by Sondre Brunstad Fet -- David scored on the rebound of a shot by Kenan Yildiz, who was brought on at halftime and had a hand in all three Juventus goals.

The finish from Canada international David saw Juve pick up their first win of the league phase to go along with three draws to put them on six points and move up to 21st in the 36-team table.

The goal for McKennie, who has been in and out of Mauricio Pochettino's U.S. squads in 2025, was his first of the season for Juve and eighth of his career in the Champions League. His U.S. teammate Christian Pulisic has the most goals by an American in the Champions League with 12.
