Napoli drew another blank at the Maradona Stadium as they were held 0-0 by Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday four in the Champions League.

Scott McTominay was wayward with several chances for Napoli, who drew 0-0 in Serie A at home against Como three days ago, while a point apiece did little in either side's bid to start climbing the table.

Serie A leaders Napoli lost their opening Champions League game at Manchester City and after beating Sporting were thrashed 6-2 at PSV Eindhoven in their previous tie.

Napoli continued to boss possession in the second period, but Frankfurt looked more threatening on the break and Mario Götze headed straight at Milinkovic-Savic before McTominay's shot was blocked.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo fizzed a shot from a tight angle just wide as Napoli stepped it up with 20 minutes left, but Frankfurt continued to look dangerous on the counter-attack and Milinkovic-Savic denied substitute Ansgar Knauff.

Frank Anguissa fired off target from inside the area for Napoli and McTominay missed a golden late chance to snatch it for Antonio Conte's side when firing wide from Anguissa's cut-back.
