Atlético Madrid earned back-to-back LaLiga wins with a 3-0 victory over Mallorca.

A comfortable display from Diego Simeone's side saw Alexander Sorloth open the scoring in the first half before a comical own goal from David López and Thiago Almada's fierce strike wrapped up the win.

Victory means Atlético are now unbeaten in their last five league outings, while Mallorca remain just above the relegation zone.

Mallorca's Mateo Joseph whipped in a corner for Vedat Muriqi in the early stages, but the striker nodded wide and Atlético had a chance when David Hancko's header flew over.

Muriqi sent another header wide from Sergi Darder's delivery, while at the other end Leo Román was called into action to deny Sorloth and Giuliano Simeone in quick succession.

Atlético took the lead in the 22nd minute when Marcos Llorente's powerful volley was superbly saved by Roman, but the ball fell for Sorloth to blast home.

Julián Álvarez had an opportunity to double the lead just before the break and Simeone came close shortly after the restart when his header flew wide.

Roman was forced to save an effort from Pablo Barrios and the midfielder had another promising chance when his long-range shot whistled just past an upright.

Atlético continued to dominate and Sorloth's powerful header was held by Roman, but Mallorca had a brilliant chance when Muriqi nodded just wide at the back post.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 75th minute when Llorente fired a menacing ball across the box and Mateu Morey's attempted clearance hit the head of Lopez at point-blank range and the ball bounced into the net.

Almada made the game safe in the 87th minute after pouncing on a loose ball from a corner and firing into the roof of the net.
