Barcelona v Valencia
- Fermín López - 29', 56'
- Raphinha - 53', 66'
- Robert Lewandowski - 76', 86'
Barcelona rout Valencia with goals from Raphinha, Fermín
Barcelona returned to winning ways with two goals each from Fermín López, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in a dominant 6-0 victory over Valencia in LaLiga.
Barça bounced back in style from last week's draw with Rayo Vallecano and did so without the injured Lamine Yamal as López sent them ahead with a fantastic low finish following a controlled first-half display.
The game suddenly opened up after the break as Raphinha bagged a brace either side of López's second and substitute Lewandowski piled more misery on Valencia in the final 15 minutes.
A comfortable evening moves Barça to second in the LaLiga standings and their attention now turns to a Champions League clash against Newcastle on Thursday.
Marcus Rashford had an early chance, blasting a powerful strike over the crossbar, and the visitors were tested again moments later when Jules Kounde's flicked effort from a corner was saved by Julen Agirrezabala, with Rashford then firing over the bar.
A confident display from the hosts then saw López tap the ball into Ferran Torres and the forward broke through the centre of Valencia's defence before chipping a shot onto the roof of the net.
Agirrezabala then held Roony Bardghji's curling strike and parried López's effort at the near post as Barcelona continued to push for an opener.
They eventually found the breakthrough in the 29th minute when a brilliant touch from Torres directed the ball into the path of Lopez, who smashed low into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
The hosts then defended a dangerous spell from Valencia -- who sent a number of menacing balls into the box -- before Marc Casadó had a curling shot from distance headed behind as Barca looked to extend their advantage before the break.
Torres sliced a shot wide minutes into the second half, but Barcelona soon doubled their lead when Rashford's dangerous cross was scuffed into the corner by Raphinha in the 53rd minute.
The hosts struck again just three minutes later when López moved into space in the centre of the pitch and his shot from outside of the box was too strong for Agirrezabala, who got a fingertip to the ball as it whistled into the bottom corner.
A miserable afternoon soon soured further for Valencia when a miscommunication at the back allowed Raphinha to quickly pounce and smash the ball into the bottom corner in the 66th minute.
Only 10 minutes later, a quick move down the pitch saw Dani Olmo play Lewandowski through the middle and the striker hit a brilliant finish into the top corner.
Lewandowski found the net again in the 86th minute and although his looping strike was initially ruled out for offside, the decision was overturned.
