Luis Diaz scores hat trick, Kane brace as Bayern romp to 5-1 win over Hoffenheim
Harry Kane scored two penalties and Luis Díaz netted a hat-trick as Bayern Munich romped to a 5-1 win over 10-man Hoffenheim.
Kane's spot-kick brace in the first half, after Kevin Akpoguma was sent off in the 17th minute, saw him become the leading league goalscorer in Europe.
The England captain's Bundesliga tally of 24, moves him two ahead of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé.
Vincent Kompany's men now sit six points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund in their bid for another league title.
Kane's first penalty came three minutes after the red card but it was not immediately plain sailing for Bayern, when Andrej Kramaric scored for the away side.
That proved to be no more than a blip on Bayern's part though, as Kane again scored from the spot and then Luis Diaz bagged the first of his three two minutes into stoppage time.
From there, the game was effectively done, but the Colombian was still on hand to hit the back of the net twice more, in the 62nd minute and again in the 89th to secure the match ball.
