Bayern v Dortmund
Harry Kane on target again as Bayern triumph in Der Klassiker
Harry Kane scored his 12th goal in seven Bundesliga games as Bayern Munich withstood a late scare to beat rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Kane headed home from a Joshua Kimmich corner after 22 minutes to give his side the lead and Michael Olise grabbed the second from close range before Julian Brandt's late strike caused home nerves to jangle.
Bayern always looked likely to stretch their 100% start to the new campaign but despite looking utterly dominant in the first period they had only Kane's strike to show for their efforts.
Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel produced good saves to deny Olise and Luis Díaz in the early stages, before Kane struck by out-jumping the visiting defence to give his side the lead.
Dortmund gradually grew into the game but could not make their first spell of pressure tell and Bayern almost doubled their advantage when Olise cut into the box on a neat one-two with Aleksandar Pavlovic but clipped the post with his shot.
Diaz and Kimmich also came close but Dortmund -- who like Bayern had come into the game unbeaten -- looked stronger at the start of the second half and Felix Nmecha should have got a header on target from Julian Ryerson's free-kick.
Serhou Guirassy also fired over for Dortmund and in what was becoming an increasingly scrappy encounter, the Guinea international spurned an even better chance to equalise in the 66th minute when he slipped and sent another shot over the crossbar from a strong position.
The visitors introduced Jobe Bellingham in the 73rd minute but the former Sunderland man had a night to forget, immediately stumbling over a Díaz cross in front of goal and allowing Olise to follow up and bundle the ball over the line to put Bayern 2-0 up.
But Dortmund were not finished and substitute Brandt made an immediate impression after coming on in the 84th minute, scoring with his first touch from Ryerson's cross to set up a dramatic finish.
The visitors looked to fancy their chances as they poured forward but the best they could do was a blocked shot from Nmecha as Bayern hung on to extend their winning start to the season.
