Bayern v Bremen
Kane reaches 100 goals as Bayern beat Bremen
Harry Kane set a new record by reaching a century of goals for Bayern Munich in their 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen.
The England captain added two more to his tally to ensure he achieved the feat in just 104 games, eclipsing Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland and becoming the fastest player in Europe's top five leagues to score 100 goals for a club this century.
Kane is setting a more relentless pace than ever this season, hitting double figures in the league after only five games as Bayern maintained their perfect start to the campaign.
Young midfielder Tom Bischof made his first Bundesliga start for Bayern following his summer move from Hoffenheim, while Joshua Kimmich was again only on the bench.
It was the hosts who were in control from the start and Kane might have made his mark earlier but he dragged a shot from Michael Olise's pass uncharacteristically well wide.
Olise was at the heart of things again when Bayern took the lead in the 22nd minute, the former Crystal Palace man's cross from the right met with a clever back flick from defender Jonathan Tah that was diverted into the net by the knee of Luis Díaz.
Kane came close four minutes later after he was played in by Leon Goretzka but his shot was well saved by Karl Hein, who is on loan at Bremen from Arsenal.
The pressure on the visitors was relentless and Serge Gnabry shot wide before exceptional defending from Marco Friedl denied Kane when he looked certain to turn in Goretzka's cross.
But, in the closing moments of the first half, Friedl was adjudged to have brought down Kane inside the area and the England man kept his perfect penalty record in the Bundesliga by sending Hein the wrong way.
It was almost three before half-time but Gnabry was denied by Hein and the same player had the first decent effort of the second half with a shot from the edge of the box that whistled over the crossbar.
Bremen tried to offer something in attack and it was right-back Yukinari Sugawara who managed to force Manuel Neuer into a save at his near post in the 58th minute.
But, seven minutes later, Bayern had their third and Kane had his big moment, the striker once again in the right place at the right time to convert after a jinking run from Díaz.
Díaz then shot just wide and Olise was denied by Hein as Bayern sought a fourth, but Kane's hopes of another hat trick were ended 12 minutes from time when Nicolas Jackson was sent on in his place.
The on-loan Chelsea man almost scored his first Bayern goal but became the latest to be foiled by Hein, while at the other end, Victor Boniface found the net but was denied by the offside flag.
Bayern rubbed salt in the wound with a fourth in the 87th minute, the impressive Bischof setting up Konrad Laimer, and 17-year-old debutant Wisdom Mike almost added a fifth in injury time.
