Hoffenheim v Bayern
Harry Kane scores hat trick as Bayern demolish Hoffenheim
Harry Kane scored a hat trick in Bayern Munich's 4-1 Bundesliga win over Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena.
The England forward got onto the end of 17-year-old debutant Lennart Karl's corner to put the champions 1-0 up shortly before half-time.
He then added a second, three minutes after the break, from the penalty spot before sealing his third also from the spot after Michael Olise was brought down by Bernardo.
Hoffenheim did get one back through former West Ham right back Vladimír Coufal's deflected free-kick, but it was Bayern who had the last say, with Serge Gnabry tapping home a rebound deep into stoppage time.
Kane took his club tally for the season to a stunning 13 from seven games in all competitions, having also scored two in the 3-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The win sees Vincent Kompany's side maintain their 100 per cent start the campaign as they bid to retain their Bundesliga crown.
Bayern's win follows 6-0 and 5-0 home victories against RB Leipzig and Hamburg respectively, as well as a 3-2 away triumph at Augsburg.
Bayern won both of last season's league matches against their opponents on Saturday with an aggregate scoreline of 9-0, but they came close to conceding an early goal when a mistake by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer presented Fisnik Asllani with a chance, but he could not convert and struck the post.
A resilient Hoffenheim looked on course to take the champions into half-time with the game goalless before Kane netted in the final minute of the opening period.
Kane drifted away from his marker before lashing home Karl's pinpoint corner with a fine first-time strike.
It marked the 32-year-old's sixth goal from four league games so far, and he was just getting started.
Only 38 seconds had been played of the second half when Sacha Boey's strike from outside the area hit Albian Hajdari on the hand.
A spot-kick was awarded to the visitors, and Kane made no mistake by steering his strike into the bottom corner.
Olise drew a foul from Bernardo with 13 minutes to go, which gave Kane the chance to secure his second hat trick of the season.
Kane duly converted, blasting his strike into the top corner, to land his 98th goal for Bayern in just 103 matches since his exit from Tottenham.
Hoffenheim's Coufal scored his consolation goal with eight minutes to go, only for substitute Gnabry to restore the away side's three-goal advantage in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
