Nestory Irankunda repeats 'perfect' free kick for Watford

Nestory Irankunda has astonished his manager at Championship side Watford by coming up with a second glorious free kick in the space of seven days -- but the increasingly feted Socceroos star has been warned he must do even more to become a great player.

After his brilliant curler earned Watford a draw at Swansea City last week, the teenager repeated the dose with a similar 25-yarder in the 81st minute that again salvaged a point for the Hornets in a 2-2 draw against Southampton on Saturday.

It was another dazzling moment from the 19-year-old winger who couldn't make the grade at German giants Bayern Munich but who's been shining for Watford in England's second-tier ever since being signed in the summer in a £3 million move.

"I'm a game-changer," shrugged Irankunda, after the acrobatic celebration he had promised proved almost as spectacular as the goal.

It all left Paulo Pezzolano, his Uruguayan boss at Watford, once again singing Irankunda's praises -- but with a word of warning too.

"I'm not really surprised about the free kicks because we knew about Nestor's quality, but we didn't expect those free kicks in such a short space of time," he admitted.

"I can't remember seeing anyone score two free kicks like that in successive games -- those were perfect and beautiful free kicks.

"But I am going to be on top of Nestory because he has to keep on growing and developing.

"He has to understand that he needs to keep on working. There is so much more that he can achieve.

"From a fitness point of view, if he makes 20 sprints in a game now, he has to make 30 in the future; if he makes three assists now, he has to make six. And if he scores two goals, he has to score four in the future.

"He has to improve tactically, when and how to press the opponent.

"We want to help Nestory understand the great player that he can be, and to help him become that great player that everybody was expecting in the last two or three years."

Irankunda will now fly back home where he's been recalled to the Socceroos' squad for the first time in nearly a year to face New Zealand on Friday in Canberra and in Auckland the following Tuesday.

"We've probably seen him mature as a player," Australia boss Tony Popovic noted on Friday.

"He's still maturing and getting better. And we hope to see him in two, three, four World Cups to come."
